About Me
I grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts, and I received my Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at Boston University in 2025. My interest in engineering deepened in college, where I discovered how much I enjoyed turning ideas into physical products. After getting my own 3D printer, an Elegoo Neptune 3, I became invested in building and improving my own designs. It gave me the freedom to experiment and learn through iteration. I then progressed to learning how to navigate the machine shop to create products using a variety of tools, such as the CNC mill, laser cutter, waterjet cutter, drill press, and more! I capped off my degree with the toughest and most rewarding project I have done to date: the Vibram Transparent Inclinable Walkway project. The project pushed me to learn how to collaborate in a team of 5 on a project with high stakes of safety, as well as having lots of real-world constraints such as budget and machining availability.
After university, I completed an internship at Sensacore Medical Instrumentation in Hyderabad, India, a company that manufactures affordable in vitro medical devices for hospitals and health clinics in 80 countries worldwide. In this role, I gained practical experience with sheet metal manufacturing, CNC machining, acrylic bending, and part procurement. The internship also challenged me to grow personally. Adapting to a new city, culture, and work environment improved my interpersonal skills and proactiveness heavily. Now, I hope to delve into an industry where I can learn as many skills as I can to create meaningful and impactful products for people around the world.
Personal Life
In 2021, I went out of my comfort zone and got a job as a salesperson at my local Yankee Candle store. I had always gone to the store as a customer to smell candles for an hour or 2 since I loved them so much, and one day I just took a leap of faith and asked for a job! At first, I was really timid and scared to talk to customers. Over time, I became someone who loved talking to anyone who came in, and I would even give elevator pitches for new products to anyone who would listen. I owe a lot to this job for bringing me out of my shell and teaching me a lot about communication and friendliness.
One hobby I have is watching and playing tennis in my free time. I have been playing ever since I was 12, and I used to play on the Lexington High School tennis team. I also love to play the classical guitar. The calming and soothing tone of the instrument is what drew me to start playing it. Gardening and plant-caretaking are also big parts of my life. My family always plants flowers in the front yard and keeps many houseplants inside, and so a lot of my time is spent watering and feeding them. Lastly, I enjoy creating wax-sealed letters for friends and loved ones. I got into the hobby during COVID times, and now I am addicted to making them and sending them out as a nice, heartfelt way to keep in touch.
